John Robert’s family has asked anyone with knowledge regarding his death to come forward. John Roberts, a lifelong Newcastle United fan, was found dead at his Winlaton house ten years ago.

On December 16, 2012, the body of John “The Badge” Roberts was discovered at his Gateshead home. Despite this, no one has been held accountable for the terrible murder in Winlaton eleven years later.

The inquiry into John’s death has taken several unexpected turns, with individuals being detained but eventually freed without being charged.

Jennifer Roberts, John’s mother, asked anybody who knew who killed him to come forward so that they might

prevent someone from killing him again on the first anniversary of his death.

On Sunday evening, December 16, 2012, Winlaton Police officers on patrol discovered the 32-year-old Park resident’s

Terrace door was left open and went to investigate. They discovered his body afterward.

The Newcastle United fan was discovered in his living room and died as a result of severe head injuries.

A murder investigation was launched, which has now evolved to become one of the largest that Northumbria Police investigators have worked on.

John’s photograph was disseminated to a big throng of Newcastle United supporters at St. James’ Park as police

examined the possibility that the Toon Army might have information that could lead to the murder’s solution.

John, a father of one, was last seen alive on December 13, 2012,

when he went to the Kandola Store near his home in Winlaton to buy cigarette papers.

He gained his reputation by selling pin badges outside the Tyneside Irish Centre, close to St. James’ Park, on match days.

However, it is still uncertain what happened in the days between his leaving the shop and his death being recovered.

The investigator in charge of the case is now, four years later, issuing a new appeal for information in the hope that someone, somewhere,

might have critical evidence that could help identify those responsible for his killing.

According to Northumbria Police Detective Chief Inspector Lisa Theaker,

the murder of John Roberts is still under investigation and will remain so until the culprits are captured.

She also stated that a lot has changed in the four years since John’s death, and the person responsible may now be in a totally different circumstance.

Detectives have also visited over 3,000 homes in the Winlaton region in search of information.

They also took the unprecedented step of filming a reenactment of John’s last known motions using an actor.

Despite the fact that multiple people have been held and questioned,

no one has been charged with John’s murder, and all of the suspects have been advised that no further action will be taken against them.
