After his father died in 2001, he returned to Texas and chose to buy two local newspapers, which he ultimately sold to Stephens Media, the publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Later, he decided to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur and founded Quince Media. Under the company’s umbrella, he launched a magazine and a website.

He began co-hosting the CNN show In the Arena with ED Hill in 2011. He was a fill-in host there for a brief time.

He joined ESPN in 2015 and began hosting a radio show. He was a frequent guest on Outside the Lines and eventually became a full-time co-host of the show First Take.

For a time, he hosted the show, and later, he became the host of The RvenRussilo Show. Will also created his own ESPN podcast, The Will Cain Show, where he discussed sports and politics.
