Jim Caviezel Withstood a Lightning Strike
Jim Caviezel had a near-fatal encounter while filming a different film nearly two decades ago when he was literally struck by lightning while filming The Passion of the Christ.
Jim was reportedly struck by lightning while filming a scene.
Similarly, assistant director Jan Michelini was injured by the bolt.
They’ve both spoken about their experiences in the media.
Jim was sent to the operating room twice for critical medical operations as a result of the lightning strike and multiple injuries sustained during the shooting.
Caviezel described the incident as “about four seconds before it happened, it was quiet, and then it felt like someone slapped my ears.”
