Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was killed in a shooting near Hagersville, Ontario, on Tuesday afternoon, just as he was about to fulfill his dream of joining the force. Grzegorz Pierzchala was 28 years old. During a late-night press conference on Tuesday, OPP Commissioner Thomas Carrique said, “Our hearts are genuinely torn as a policing family.”

According to Carrie, shortly after 2:30 p.m., Pierzchala, who joined the OPP over a year ago, responded to a complaint of a car in a ditch near Indian Line and Concession 14.

He alleged that when the cop drove up and approached, two people in the car began firing.

The OPP advised citizens to stay indoors while they searched for the accused.

The alert included photos of the alleged culprits, but only one was identified: Randall McKenzie.

The two wanted individuals may be armed, according to police.

The alert was later canceled after the perpetrators were apprehended.

It is unknown where they were apprehended.

According to Carrie, there was no immediate danger to members of the public while they were on the loose.
