Gareth Richards, 41, died in a tragic car accident.

According to a statement released by Richard’s wife, Laura, the married father

of two who co-hosted Absolute Radio with Frank Skinner had significant brain injuries in the event.

Richards died around 6.30 p.m. on Friday after being in the hospital for two weeks.

His wife lauded the “incredible” doctors and nurses who looked after him.

It happens a week after Skinner, 66, cried about life while telling listeners that Richards was in a coma and clinging to life.

“It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Gareth died on Friday, April 7 (Good Friday) at 6.30 pm,” the note added.

On his Saturday radio show,

Frank Skinner informed listeners that Gareth Richards, a friend, and former co-host, is in critical condition after a vehicle accident.

Richards, 66, sobbed as he revealed he had been in a “massive traffic accident” on Monday.

Richards is suspected to have been engaged in a tragic crash on the M25 at Heathrow Airport between Junctions 14 and 15.

The freeway was closed for more than 10 hours as a result of this tragedy.

According to the SurreyLive website, when firefighters used a saw to release a guy from his automobile,

the London ambulance service treated his head and chest before transporting him to a major trauma center.

Skinner told Absolute Radio listeners in the last seconds of the show that he did not want to name Richards.
