Hobbs Kessler’s Professional Career
Hobbs started as a cross country runner in Middle school and participated for one season and later in high school, he was not initially the fastest but progressively built up.
In his junior year, he improved his timing and records and by senior year, his records were great. He broke the record of national indoors record for crossing a mile distance in under 3min 57 seconds at the American track league tournament in Arkansas.
He broke the record for the shortest time taken to complete 1500m in just 3min 34 seconds in US high school history and beat the record of Jim Ryun who held the record for 55 years.
Hobbs had joined a training club called Very Nice Training club and put in all his concentration on running in the last year of high school.
He later went on to qualify in the US trials and ranked at the 5th spot in Portland. He also became the second-youngest male to qualify in the event since Jim Ryun.
Recently he won two titles for 1600m and 800m in the Michigan state track finals. He also become a professional only later this year in 2021.
