Jil Teichmann’s Junior Career

Teichmann was ranked third in the world during her junior years. In February 2011, she made her debut on the ITF Junior Circuit, where she continued to compete in doubles. She won her first junior title in singles at the Grade-5 Luzern Junior Competition in September 2011.

In October 2012, she reached the quarterfinals of the Grade A Osaka Mayor’s Cup in singles. In February 2013, she won her first doubles match while competing in the Swiss Junior Trophy. Later, she competed in the Grand Slam Australia Open 2014, reaching the quarterfinals in doubles.

Following that, in March 2014, she competed in the Grade A Campeonato Internacional Juvenil de Tenis de Porto Alegre, where she won the game in both singles and doubles. She is continuing to have success in her upcoming events. She competed in Wimbledon 2014,

she resurrected her career by reaching the quarterfinals of the Phillip Island Trophy, where she defeated three Romanians in a row before losing to Marie Bouzkova.

Teichmann competed in the WTA 1000 in Dubai, where she defeated Katarina Zavatska in the first round and Petra Kvitová in the second before making the WTA 1000 list in the third round. She competed in the WTA 1000 in Miami,

where she was forced to withdraw from the competitions when playing against Paula Badosa. Following that, she won the Madrid Open, defeating world number five Elina Svitolina while saving six match points. Badosa eventually knocked her out in three sets in the subsequent rounds.
