Kevin Huerter- Professional Career
Kevin began playing basketball at a young age, and he committed to play for Maryland on September 7, 2015, as a four-star recruit.
Later, as a freshman, he averaged 9.3 points per game and increased his output to 14.8 points per game with an average of 5 rebounds per game. During the 2017 season, he was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten.
Kevin’s NBA career began when he was selected in the 2018 NBA Draft. He worked out with teams from the Los Angeles Lakers and hired an agent to help him stay in the draft.
On May 30, 2018, he was selected in the NBA draft as the 19th overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks.
Kevin made his NBA debut by scoring 22 points in his first game, a loss to the Indiana Pacers, before setting a season high with 29 points against the Philadelphia 76ers. He was named to the All-Rookie Second Team following the 2018-2019 season, but he was unable to play the following season due to the pandemic.
