Mandy Hansen is a television personality who is the skipper of a Northwestern fishing vessel and technical advisor for Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” in 2001.

Mandy Hansen began working on the ship shortly after graduating from high school. On April 22, 2014, she officially joined the cast as a deckhand on the Northwestern. Mandy was promoted to right-hand of the ship after a few seasons.

Clark Pederson, Mandy’s now-husband, is also a cast member of “Deadliest Catch.” He started as a deckhand/captain-in-training at The Shaver Transportation Company on the Columbia River, where the pair met and bonded over the rough seas.

He was afterward engaged as a greenhorn on the Northwestern Railroad. He believes in Mandy’s aim to be the captain of Northwestern.

Clark’s journey to the Hansen family’s opulent Seattle house to ask Sig for Mandy’s hand in marriage was a fan favorite scene on “Deadliest Catch.” Following Sig’s consent, he requests a private meeting with Mandy, and the two enjoy an intimate moment on deck before Clark proposes and Mandy agrees.

Mandy married Northwestern’s greenhorn on June 10, 2017, at Pacific Fisherman Shipyard in Seattle, in front of the Northwestern vessel. The wedding was attended by family, friends, and crew members. Sig served as Clark’s best man and escorted Mandy down the ship’s gangway during the ceremony.

Mandy and Clark chose a traditional Norwegian wedding, complete with a Norwegian Princess wedding cake called ‘Kransekaka’ with families dressed in traditional Norwegian attire. During the season 13 finale, the wedding was briefly depicted.

Sig thought fishing was a man’s activity, but Mandy persuaded her parents to change their minds via her tenacity and persistence. Mandy originally appeared on “Deadliest Catch” as a guest star when she was 13 years old, in the “After the Catch” segment.

Mandy worked as a salmon tender on the Northwestern from the age of 14. Smaller salmon fishing boats utilized the Northwestern as a fish taxi, filling the vessel for transfer so they didn’t have to transport the salmon back and forth. As a result of her high-quality work and efficiency, she received numerous offers.
