Later in the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Mosby said that her office will no longer pursue drug possession, minor trafficking, and other low-level offences in Baltimore prisons to slow the spread of coronavirus.
She stated in March 2021 that she would prefer to make those adjustments permanent.
She said that the brief experiment had not resulted in more serious offences.
