According to BuzzFeed, Healy shared a screenshot of a tweet that said, “You start dating a Muslim girl, then BOOM.”

According to reports, the sentence makes a false connection between Muslims and bombs.

Farida Hashem, a young Muslim girl who ran the Harry Styles fan account, challenged the lead vocalist of the band 1975, who apparently reacted by saying a Harry Styles fan account educated him.

The Hendon-born performer also added that he was sorry to Hashem, not for his religious sentiments.

Healy later explained what he meant in an interview with The Guardian, saying, “Don’t try to teach me about Islam when you’re only 13 years old.” If you tell me to, I’ll stay in my lane.”
