She is one of the Spice Girls’ five members, and she was given the nickname Sporty Spice. Melanie received an honorary LGBT award at this year’s Attitude Award presentation on October 12.
“I had zero problems with people thinking I was gay,” Melaine stated as she accepted her medal. So what if I was gay? It is not a terrible thing; it is brilliant.”

She recorded a song called High Hells in which she expressed her appreciation for the LGBTQ+ community.

“High Heels is also a frivolous riot of a song,” she noted, “encapsulating an amazing night out and everything that goes into getting yourself ready for it!”
Melanie was taken aback by the club’s friendliness and sense of community.
She stated that anyone, whoever they are, maybe themselves at the club while feeling completely at ease with themselves.
Melanie has publicly advocated for the LGBTQ+ community and openly supports transgender equality.
Throughout her speech, she calls on institutions and the government to confront LGBTQ+ inequalities.
Melanie C canceled her New Year’s Eve concert in Poland through Twitter on December 26 after becoming aware of the matter, in order to connect with the groups she supports.
“In light of some issues that have been brought to my attention that do not align with the communities I support, I’m afraid I will no longer be able to perform in Poland on New Year’s Eve as planned,” she writes.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community commended her for not elaborating on the matter. She was referred to as a “hero” and an “ally.”

“I don’t think about it much.” “But I don’t mind being called a lesbian,” she continued. I’ve had moments in my life when I’ve thought, ‘I wish I were a lesbian.'”
