Ms. Wright, of Workington, was granted conditional bail, while Mr. Kelly, of Hunday Court, Workington, was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on Friday.

Reece Kelly, 30, of Workington, is charged with murder and two counts of child cruelty.

Cumbria Police have also accused Georgia Wright, 22, of Workington, of two offenses of child maltreatment and causing or permitting the death of a child.

According to detectives, the claims are related to the deaths of a child under the age of two and a four-month-old boy from Workington, England, who died in October 2021.

They were both placed into police custody and will appear in Carlisle court later on December 14.

“Two people have been charged in connection with the investigation into the death of a four-month-old boy from Workington,” a spokeswoman for Cumbria Police said.

Both have been arrested in police custody and are set to appear in court in Carlisle on December 14 on charges of the deaths of a child under the age of two and a four-month-old newborn in October 2021.

“Cumbria Constabulary wishes to inform everyone that criminal proceedings are currently underway.”
