Mahorn was drafted in the second round of the 1980 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets.

He spent two seasons with the Bullets before being moved to the Detroit Pistons in 1985.

Mahorn quickly became known for his hard style of play, and he and teammate Bill Laimbeer established a deadly frontcourt combo.

They were nicknamed as the “Bruise Brothers” because of their hard fouls and aggressive play.

Mahorn spent six seasons with the Pistons, helping them win the NBA championship in 1989.

After leaving the Pistons, he went on to play for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, and Utah Jazz until retiring in 1999.

He averaged 5.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during his career.

Mahorn became an assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers and later the Detroit Shock of the WNBA after retiring as a player.

He also worked as a television analyst for the Pistons and competed on the reality television show “The Biggest Loser” in 2010.
