Justin Fuente is a former football player and is presently working as a football coach in the United States. He was the head football coach at Virginia Tech and was also named ACC Coach of the Year. Fuente has also served as the head football coach at the University of Memphis and as an assistant coach at Texas Christian University. After six years with Virginia Tech, the team’s management opted to replace him, and he will no longer hold the position.
Justin Fuente has also worked at Illinois State University as an assistant professor. He has coached some of the qualifying quarterbacks, including Andy Dalton, a three-time pro bowler, Paxton Lynch (who was selected in the first round of the draft), and Jerod Evans (who plays for Arena Football as a quarterback).

Jenny Fuente, the coach’s wife, is his life partner. Jenny revealed in one of her interviews that she and coach Justin were both close to a number of assistant coaches and staff members who had all known them for many years. Galen Scott, one of the assistant coaches, forced the two of them to meet.
Jenny was an athlete at the time, and her coach, Scott, was a year her senior. She was a graduate student who was involved with her volleyball team. Jenny met Justin Fuente while he and Galen were coaching together.

Justin Fuente- Professional Career
Justin attended Union High School in Tulsa, where he racked up nearly 6,104 yards and 65 touchdowns during his senior year. In 1994, he was the state’s leading passer in terms of passing yards and touchdown passes.
Fuente signed his first contract with the Wranglers in May 2000 as their third-string quarterback, but due to minimal playing time in 2000 and 2001, he departed the team in May 2001 and went to work as a college coach at Illinois State University.
When Fuente first started his career in 2001, he was assigned to coach Denver Johnson. When he was an assistant coach at Oklahoma and the head coach at Murray State, he played for Johnson. After three years in the same job, Fuente was elevated to the senior post of offensive coordinator, where he remained until 2006. Following this, he accepted a post as a running back coach at TCU.
In 2009, he was moved to the co-offensive coordinator at TCU, where he assisted many players in achieving their life goals and becoming the people they are now. Andy Dalton was one of those individuals. In 2011, Fuente led the Horned Frogs to an undefeated season and the Rose Bowl.
On November 29, 2015, Fuente signed a contract with Virginia Tech to become the head coach. He took over for departing coach Frank Beamer at the time. Following that, Virginia Tech and Fuente decided to extend the contract until 2023.
